Tatting
is a form of lace that is very strong in structure. It is really sturdy
especially when it’s done with shuttle. With shuttle you can make the finest
and the tightest durable tatted masterpieces.
Shuttle
tatters wrap the thread around one hand and manipulate the shuttle with the
other hand to create special knots. Hundreds of knots are tied to form rings,
loops and chains.
Shuttles
Every tatter will need more than two
shuttles.
Shuttles come in a variety of shapes and materials.

My
remark
Advantages:
- the finest and the tightest form of tatting
- the strongest tatted lace
- the smallest degree of stretch
- you can work with very thin threads
- more possibilities to use different ways to tat
Disadvantages:
- it is hard to correct mistakes (sometimes not possible) because shuttle tatting does not unravel
- the slowest technique
- for some of you can seem difficult to learn
Shuttle
tatting is better suited to finer and more traditional lacemaking.
